SCOM 2007 likes and dislikes

January 29, 2007

Having had a chance to use the RC2 product and read the documentation I have developed a number of likes and dislikes about SCOM 2007. I have also filed a few bugs as well. I did say that RC1 was more like a beta. On the beta newsgroups someone else commented that they thought RC2 [...]

This even affects the latest version so if you are using this MP please [...]

One Source for Management Packs, Please

January 11, 2007

We all know that there are links to all the Microsoft MPs and some third party (free and commercial) at the Catalog site. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/mom/mom2005/catalog.aspx
While searching for information and reading blogs I keep on coming across MPs that have been released only to the vendor site or that someone has created for their organisation and so [...]

Creating Management Packs for SCOM 2007

January 10, 2007

For a while now I have been toying with the idea of doing a series of posts on creating MOM 2005 management packs. There is a lot of documentation on how to create them for MOM 2005. For SCOM 2007 there is now the documentation on the new style XML MP which at first is [...]
